Raspberry Canes

Raspberries are native to the UK and well suited to the cool, moist conditions of northern and western areas. An open, sunny spot is preferable but they will tolerate some shade. Ensure good drainage and plant on a ridge if necessary. Mulch annually in Spring with good quality compost or manure with good levels of nitrogen and potash. It is now possible to be self sufficient in raspberries from June to October. Plant 45-60 cm apart within the rows.
