Gooseberry bushes

Gooseberries are easy to grow and adaptable to a wide range of soils other than very wet or dry ones. They are well suited to open or partially shaded positions and benefit from generous mulching and feeding with potash. Grow as bushes, cordons, fans or standards with yields of up to 4.5 kg of fruit per bush per year. New dessert types and mildew resistant varieties are now widely available and make gooseberries a rewarding fruit to grow.
