Quince trees

Quinces are exotic fruit introduced by the Romans. Quince trees grow very well in a sunny, sheltered location on loamy soil. A decorative garden tree with striking soft pink flowers in late Spring, followed by large perfumed fruits that are delicious when cooked and combined with other seasonal fruits.

Quince jelly can be made from the fruits and they also make an excellent marmalade or even a liqueur!
