Black mulberries have been cultivated for centuries for their distinctive appearance and delicious dark red fruits.  These Mulberries are very  juicy, have a distinct sweet-sharp flavour and can be eaten fresh or cooked.  Plant Mulberry trees in a sunny well-drained location with a good depth of loamy soil.  Mulberries are large, slow growing trees of attractive shape.  Self fertile.

A hardy hybrid (Morus alba x rubra) originating from N America which begins fruiting at a very young age (3-5 yrs). Well-flavoured large dark berries.
