Gages

Gages, although members of the plum family, are a distinct group of smaller, greenish-yellow or golden fruits with lightly scented flesh and a richer, sweeter taste. Gages can be less inclined to crop in poor Summers preferring drier and warmer conditions. Generally, the yellow types are more reliable than the green gages, but both are worth growing for their exquisite flavour and scarcity value. The Gages supplied by Carrob Growers are grown on St Julien A or Pixy rootstocks.
